Once one of Scotland’s largest castles, and sitting on the banks of Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle is a must-do when you are in Inverness!

On this beautiful April afternoon I stopped off near Urquhart Castle to admire the view. The sun had taken the chill away and although there was still some snow on the hills I know Spring is here!
Under the control of Historic Scotland, Urquhart Castle is open to the public and well worth a visit. Located on the A82 and about 15 miles from Inverness it sits right on the banks of Loch Ness. It has stunning views and a fantastic exhibition with an audio-visual display and it is from here that most sightings of Nessie have occurred so keep your eyes peeled!
